A good friend listens to your adventures. A best friend makes them with you.
We are a husband and wife team documenting our time spent exploring the outdoors and historical sites of America (and sometimes outside of America). Majority of our adventures take place in the Pacific Northwest and Southwest, where our home states reside (Arizona and Washington).
Here’s a short Q&A on things we get asked often:
What camera gear do you use?
Cameras: Canon 6D, Canon EOS-M, GoPro Hero4 Silver edition
- Canon 16-35mm f/2.8L II (used most often)
- Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L II
- Canon 85mm f/1.8
- Canon 100mm f/2.8L Macro
- Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM
- Canon 70-200mm f/4L
- Sigma 50mm f/1.4 ART
For pre-2016 posts (we still keep these lens as they are great starter lens & we have good memories with them): Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM, Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 DG APO, Canon 50mm 1.8 + Canon 50mm 1.4
Are you professional bloggers/travelers?
Nope! We aren’t professional travelers, adventurers, writers/bloggers, or travel agents. Neither of us are planning a lifestyle where we sell/give up everything and just travel. While we love adventure, we also love having a beautiful, permanent home to come back to. When you love your home, there truly is no place like it. And we actually like our careers. We’re both fortunate enough to have found our own calling that gives each of us a stable income to allow us to travel.
How do you afford to travel so much?
The secret is simple: we have careers that we like 😉 and we budget our finances wisely (for the most part. One of us does like shopping a lot…). Do we have any tips? Not really. It really comes down to looking at priorities. The cost of a night barhopping could have been a flight to the Colorado Rockies instead.
Where do you find the time to travel?
Because we both have careers, we take advantage of weekends and holidays off. We also don’t travel to relax. We have a beautiful home we can relax in. Why on earth would we travel half way across the country/world, to lay around and not sight-see?? That’s not our style. We’re in our early-thirties. There’s time for laying around when we’re no longer very mobile. Our trips involve going a hundred miles per hour. 😀 Sleep? Who needs that?
There’s nothing complicated in what we do. We just enjoy life the way life should be enjoyed –with a great curiosity and appetite to see everything!
