Our 8 year mark of living in Tucson is coming up and somehow we are still finding new places to explore in this remarkable and unique city!
After a couple weeks of being home in Arizona, it didn’t take long for our adventurous feet to start itching with cabin fever. But stepping outside during summertime in southern Arizona has the equivalence of putting your face right in front of an open oven door that’s been roasting at 425°F/218°C. With that said, it’s been HOT and daytime hiking in the desert has been off the table for us. Thankfully we have monsoon season! It’s brought a welcome relief from the heat so even though we haven’t been hiking we’ve been getting our adventures in via storm chasing in the Jeep.
As the storm clouds started rolling overhead, we headed towards Gate’s Pass. We’ve been there countless number of times but usually stop at Gate’s Pass or continue on to the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum. This time we decided to explore more of the area Gate’s Pass sits on, Tucson Mountain Park.
