Every quarter, the Land Rover group has an off roading adventure. This quarter's event led us up Rice Peak for a BBQ and a mini mine exploration.
We met up on Oracle, a few miles away from Coronado National Park.
Signing our death waivers.
And we're off!
The going was pretty rough, more so than any of the other trails we've been on. A few newbies got stuck and had to be guided through. They just weren't aware of the kind of power Land Rovers have.
A stopping point to enjoy the view.
Part of the group at the summit.
There were hundreds of lady bugs at the summit!
And a horny toad! He wasn't doing a very good job of keeping the lady bug population under control...
After the summit, we headed down for a BBQ of burgers, brawts and hot dogs!
King George (my boss's new dog), begging for more brawts!
We brought our head lamps to explore the mines. Whoever created these... didn't get very far. There were about 4 small mines, 2 of which were mostly submerged in water but they didn't seem to go very far. The deeper one we explored had a few bats.
