I wonder how often other hikers start off on the wrong trail and just keep going just to see it through. That’s how we ended up hiking the Sunset Trail on Mount Lemmon. The views were beautiful, it was great to get out, and most importantly… it was 72°. Much cooler than the blistering 100° we had just left at the base of Mount Lemmon.
We started at Marshall Gulch with the intentions of hiking the Aspen Loop trail but ended up traversing Sunset Trail instead… and just kept going. Out and back was easy.
The trail from Marshall Gulch leads to a beautiful meadow where the other end of the Sunset trailhead is located, just off of Catalina Highway.
And back we go…
Since this was such a short & easy trail we played in the Gulch.
