Bellingham’s Best Urban Park: Whatcom Falls State Park

Whatcom Creek flows right through Whatcom Falls State Park, a beautiful 241-acre park on the southeast side of Bellingham that boasts 4 sets of waterfalls, hiking and biking trails, a swimming hole, playgrounds, tennis courts, and even a fish hatchery. On our first visit there we explored several of the easy hiking trails and were pleasantly surprised.

Finding Little Hawaii, Telluride’s Best Kept Secret

With our short time in Telluride, we wanted to fit in a short but scenic hike amongst our ghost town exploring adventures. Someone was kind enough to give me directions to a well kept secret hike on the Bear Creek Trail. When I say “well kept secret”, I mean that I searched online for 2 hours trying to find out how to get to this secret paradise, until I gave up and asked someone on a social networking site.
