Short on time but in need of a decent adventure? Then Fay Canyon Trail will probably hit the sweet spot.
This moderately trafficked hike is a flat 2.3 miles out and back and partially shaded by a plethora of manzanitas. The trail is tame by most standards… it’s at the end of the trail where the fun begins. A quick scramble over what looks like a rock slide will lead to breathtaking vistas of Fay Canyon and beyond.

Most hikers choose to turn around at this point (end of trail) but if you’re a little more mobile and adventurous, a climb over the boulders leads to a rewarding view. And there’s a good chance you’ll have the cliffs all to yourself.
