Our only intent today was to get out and escape the summer heat. In Tucson, that means heading to Mount Lemmon. We didn’t plan on any set trails beforehand. Just randomly picked one when we arrived at a trailhead map… sometimes it’s just nice to wander in the right direction. Except we didn’t didn’t exactly wander in the right direction at first, had to back track, stare at the trailhead map for the second time, then head in the other direction.

Huffing and puffing my way up the wrong direction.
Back tracking
That didn’t help much.
The view when finally heading the right direction (up Lower Green Mountain trail).

Resilient little cactus.

We don’t see much of these in the rest of Tucson! Funny how something as simple as seeing pinecones can bring joy.

But I don’t wanna go back to work!
