Tanque Verde Falls was near the bottom of our 2016 Arizona To Do list. We were out and about running errands and decided to hit up this short hike to the falls while we were out. What a surprise we had! We’ve never driven out near Reddington Pass but the towering saguaros on both sides of the road made for a beautiful trip. What was even more surprising was what we saw on the trail.

We’ve never seen so much flowing water in Tucson! It was an oasis!

We spent a couple hours chasing the falls upstream and scrambling over the boulders.

While the water was too cold for us desert dwellers, I have heard this is a very popular swimming hole during the summer monsoons. I can see why!
Even Godzilla was excited about this gem tucked away in the desert!
