Phoenix Zoo
Saturday called for a visit to the Phoenix Zoo! Here are a couple of the animal exhibits we saw:
These little ducklings were hanging out in the giraffe exhibit.
A grumpy Burrowing Owl
Road Runners are native to AZ. The first time I first saw one when we first moved to AZ, I was surprised. I expected them to be almost as large as ostriches after spending my childhood watching Wile E Coyote and Road Runner.
Not the most attractive of fellows....
And neither are these warthogs....
Coati! One of husband's favorite animals after coming across one on this spelunking adventure.
Lazy kittehs.
Javelinas! These guys are everywhere, usually eating everything.
This guy wasn't an exhibit. We were cooling off in the shade and he just happened to be chilling on the tree right beside us.
It was a hot day so we tried not to stay out under the sun for too long. A lot of the animals had the same idea and were lazing about in the shade, behind trees, rocks and bushes.
