Christmastime at Historic Eatery at the Grant House

Eatery at the Grant House is located in the historic Officers Row in Vancouver, Washington. It was built in 1849 and originally served as a residence for the commanding officer and although Ulysses S. Grant never lived in the house, he did visit on several occasions (as General and as President).

After hiking to the Witch’s Castle and touring the Portland Underground, we dined at Eatery at the Grant House so we could cross it off of our Washington State Bucketlist.

The food was delicious and the atmosphere very private. Each room in this historic house has been converted into a dining area. We dined in what was once a bedroom but now hosted 2 intimate dining tables. The hostess invited us to roam the restaurant and check out all the historic touches. The exposed logs are original and visible throughout the restaurant.
