Battle Rock City Park
The drive along the Oregon Coast is absolutely beautiful. Very scarce of people and towns but absolutely breathtaking. When we neared Gold Beach, we passed along an area that we HAD to pull into.
Battle Rock was a battleground for a clash in the 1850's between Captain William Tichenor of the steamship Sea Gull adn the local Qua-to-mah tribe.
Battle Rock is about 45 minutes away from Gold Beach. We arrived at the TuTuTun Lodge as the front desk was near closing. We actually gave them a ring to make sure we could still get into our room. If you're looking for tranquility, the TuTuTun Lodge definitely has it.
In the evening when the lights are on around the grounds of the lodge, I'm reminded of a place that would be found in the fairytale woods.
We had dinner at Spinner's Restaurant and had excellent seafood.
