Paleo Strawberries & Chocolate Kale Smoothie
I try to incorporate Kale or Spinach into my diet as much as possible. Both are great sources of folic acids, which is important for pregnant women / women trying to get pregnant as it aids in the prevention of neural tube defects in developing fetuses. Kale has a tougher texture than spinach so I find myself steering away from it in salads but it does blend well in green smoothies for a slightly thicker consistency. This recipe is different take on my Paleo Double Chocolate Smoothie with more of a kick but is just as yummy!
Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cup of fresh kale
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (homemade almond milk recipe)
- 1 cup strawberries
- 1 banana
- 2 tablespoons organic, unsweetened cacao powder
- 1 tablespoon pure almond butter
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1/2 cup cold water
Blend.
